What to know before you go solar in Venao.
Playa Venao is on the EDEMET (Naturgy) grid. For Sep–Dec 2026, ASEP's residential BTS tariff for EDEMET charges B/.0.17624 per kWh for 11–300 kWh, B/.0.23177 for 301–750 kWh and B/.0.25027 above 750 kWh, before subsidies, fuel adjustment and taxes. Lodges and restaurants may be on a different tariff; your bill shows which.

Many owners price out a diesel generator for backup. A solar system with a battery is silent and needs no fuel runs. We size it to the circuits you want to keep on. After the 9 October 2026 earthquake, Naturgy reported supply disruptions in Azuero, Veraguas and Chiriquí.

Law 417 incentives depend on eligibility and the project, not on where you are from.
Panama's net metering program (medición neta) connects your solar system to the grid through a bidirectional meter. During the day your panels power the property and export whatever's left over; at night you draw from the grid as usual. Within the month, exports offset your consumption. Unused surplus is paid at the utility's average contract purchase cost. You choose a semester or annual payout, capped at 25% based on past consumption. It is not paid at the rate you pay per kWh.
